Create, Create, Create

It's what I live for!

Eckhart Tolle, who wrote the books 'The Power of Now" and "A New Earth" said during the first online interactive course (the one he did with Oprah for the book "A New Earth"), that he had to move to California before writing his book "A New Earth" and that that is where the energy was for him to write the book. Did he say that there are places on the planet where there isn't any creative energy? No. But one would assume from that statement that the energy is greater in some places than in other places. I don't know how true that is. Maybe it's one of those things that is true for the individual and what he believes. I am not sure I believe this. I think that some places might be stressful and you may have a lot to contend with, and that might interfere with your creative flow. I am sure a calming environment would be one that is easier to create in.

I would absolutely love to be able to create everything that pops into my head. A few years ago I had a dream about these special lollipops. I have never tried to make candy before and I have never seen the kind of lollipops that were in my dreams out in the real world. I just did some quick Google search and think that I can actually get what I need and try to make them. Hummm... we'll see...

Yesterday I was talking to a friend in California and we were talking about my YouTube channels and he asked "What are you getting out of it? I mean you are spending so much time, are you making any money? Is it worth your while?" I told him that everything I do in life is not for the almighty dollar and that I really enjoy making the videos and that's my main reason for doing it. He said, "I understand sista." But you know what? I don't really think he did.

I don't think you can put a price tag on creativity. If you are truly a creative person you can create any and everything. You can create yourself into a corner or out of one...lol..lol... I think that if you can think creatively, you can think outside of the box and these days thinking differently makes all the difference.

The picture is of a sequined calendar that I make my Mother every xmas. I have been making them for what could be 30 years (I don't remember when I actually started). She had a very large nail in her kitchen and every year she would hang the new one on top of the old ones. It was a great idea because you could just flip through and see all of the older ones. Well, hurricane Katrina came and wiped them all out so now she only has 6 on a nail.

It's 17 Degrees Out (-8.3C)

I think when I was here last January the temperature got down to somewhere around 5 degrees (-15C) and I remember thinking to myself, "Anything below 10 degrees (-12.2C) feels uncomfortable to me."

In California, I remember the magic number was 110 degrees (43.3C). Any higher the temperature and I began to feel sick to my stomach.

Today the high will be around 32 degrees (0C) with some sunshine. And then snow tomorrow and tomorrow night.

I have loved reading since I was a kid. If I go about 3 days without reading something I start to physically feel weird. I read just about any and everything. Nowadays, people send me books asking for me to read and write a review. And since I LOVE books... I literally have at least 100 sitting here for me to read. Out of all of the books that I have read, I think, only 5 I could not post a review of. If a book is really bad, (i.e. jumps all over the place, doesn't make much sense, no point to it at all, or disgusting.) I will return the book to the author with a note that I don't feel comfortable posting a review. After all, reviews are my personal opinion and not fact.

Black Friday and YouTube

Hahahah... I bet you are wondering what Black Friday and YouTube have to do with each other... well, nothing, really... However, they are both two important things I want to cover in today's blog post.

I am excited that my blog is read by my friends in The Netherlands!!!! Thank you all!!!!

So there is no Thanksgiving in The Netherlands... hence, no Black Friday!

Today is Black Friday. It is the biggest shopping day of the year. Some of the department stores opened at 4am. The stores offer unbelievable savings on things for people who dare to get up and go to a store at that ungodly hour. A lot of analysis use this day as a predictor of how our economy is doing and what this holiday season will be for retailers. You will be able to hear about it on any news channel next week.

I am sooooo excited!!!!! I have been working on my YouTube videos and building my YouTube channels with the hopes and dreams of becoming a YouTube Partner. That means that YouTube will put ads on the screen when my videos are watched and I get checks in the mail! I completed an application to be a YouTube partner a year ago, but was turned down. My goal was to submit another application on January 1st. However, surprisingly, a couple of weeks ago I got an email from YouTube telling me that they were "sending me an invitation" to complete the paperwork. I completed it and today I found out that I am now a YouTube Partner. The ads are currently on 2 of my most watched videos.

It's all good I tell you... it's all good :-)

Busy Doing What?

This is a picture of my cat, Mario, on my laptop. For some strange reason Mario's favorite place to be is on my laptop. This is something new that has only begun within the last 30 days.

It's 52 degrees (11C) right now and a 50% chance of rain tomorrow and Saturday.

It's quiet here. I noticed that they have begun putting up Christmas holiday decorations on main street, which I think shouldn't be allowed. It's too soon. We haven't even had the Thanksgiving holiday. Yesterday I noticed green wreaths with big red bows hanging from the lamp post. I imagine that they will put lights up and I hope those don't go up before Thanksgiving.

Have you ever felt busy but at the end of the day you aren't sure what you have done? That is how I have been feeling for the last couple of weeks. My legal business is a little slow right now but that is understandable for this time of year and because of the economic times. I am not eBaying... so what is keeping me so preoccupied... well, I am doing a lot of reading. I have reviewed 350+ books on amazon which are also posted on my youtube channel (www.youtube.com/readerofeverything.) I get sent a lot of free books to read. Today I received a children's book consisting of holistic stories. Reading the books, making and editing my video reviews and then posting them... well, I guess that takes up more time that I thought it did. Which isn't really a bad thing because I am working on building that youtube channel so that I can become a YouTube Partner.

A YouTube partner has ads placed on their channel and then you generate revenue when your videos are watched and when someone clicks onto an ad. Pretty easy money if you ask me. It just takes a lot of work to build a channel.... and well... I guess that is what I have been busy doing lately...lol..lol... ;-)

The Creative Juices Are Flowing Again!!!

Well, I should be packing up to move and I have actually moved some clothes. It's just that I still have another 2 weeks before I can work at my new place (before phone lines and Internet will be working) so I am taking my sweet time.

Slowing down a bit also got my creative itch going.

I have a YouTube channel entitled "ReaderOfEverything", it is also my name on amazon. I have reviewed 350 books to date. My 290th review was my first video review. All reviews have been video since then as I can post them on amazon and my book review YouTube channel. My latest review is of my friend, Lin Morel's book "Get Clear. Get Connected. Get a Job." It's a super good little book and highly recommened. {Click the title to see the video review.}

I have also posted a new video on my FactualShit YouTube channel. This channel is designed to give short informative videos about actual factual shit that is happening in our world that people seem to miss. Those little things tend to jump out at me. Yesterday I posted a FactualShit video on Infinite Jest. {Click on Infinite Jest to see the video.}

The FactualShit channel is also used to promote my t-shirts. Yes, I also have a t-shirt website. I created this website a few years ago. The sayings, which I have trademarked, are meant to empower you and/or get you thinking. {Click on t-shirts to go to the site.}

If that weren't enough.... I had been thinking for the last few months about starting a new YouTube channel. Thing is... I have 3 right now and well.... I was a bit hesitant to start another however... the idea just wouldn't go away. So yesterday I designed my new YouTube channel and as soon as I post the Introduction (what it will be about), I'll let you know.

Today I Learned About ATP-ADP

My skin doctor, Dr. Eric Lewis, is an incredible person. He is also very interesting. One of the things that makes him so interesting is that he kinda lives 2 lives at one time.

I have always said that I live "dog years". I can get accomplished in one year what it would take the average person to do in 7 years..lol...lol...

Everyone has a story. I find that people's stories are more fascinating than any fiction you could read or watch.

Dr. Lewis' story is that he only sleeps 2 hours and 15 minutes a night. It is a genetic thing with the males in his family. After the age of 15 they only sleep 2 hours and 15 minutes. He said he goes to sleep at midnight and wakes up at 2:15am.

I started asking him questions and he told me all about ATP & ADP. Which occurs in every living thing. The special thing that occurs in the males in Dr. Lewis' family is called ATPase. Dr. Lewis said that only 1 out of every 20,000,000 families has this.

I asked him, "Do you dream?" And he said, "No." He goes into a dead sleep. He did have dreams up until the age of 15 years old. He said that he still remembers his dreams. He said that he misses dreaming but would not change things if he could. He said that he has lots of hobbies and businesses because of the need to not sleep. When you think of it, you should would have a lot of extra time on your hands.

I asked him, "So Dr. Lewis, I bet you have read a lot of books?" And he said, "No, I have never read a novel. I have dyslexia and so do the males in my family." I asked him how he got through medical school without reading and he said it was very difficult.

I found the whole ATP-ADP thing interesting. To better understand how it works someone made a youtube video (with Fruit Loops) that explains the cycle. Interesting I tell... just plain interesting....

I would not trade my "dog years" for Dr. Lewis' "light years".... I love dreaming way too much.
